Sivananda Yoga

Sivananda Yoga is known world wide as a traditional style of yoga which implements the classical Yoga asanas (postures). Introduced to the West by Swami Vishnu Devananda, student of Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh, North India.

Sivananda Yoga follows 5 principles:
Proper Exercise (Yoga Asanas/postures)
Proper Breathing (Pranayama)
Proper Relaxation (Savasana)
Proper Diet (vegitarianism)
Postive Thinking (Vedanta) & Meditation (Raja yoga)

These principles are a modern day interpretation of the 8 limbs of yoga writtern by the ancient Indian sage named Patanjali.
